Ontario Standard Lease

The requirement that the actual lease be drafted and provided by the landlord came into law on April 30th, 2018. As this is the responsibility of the landlord and the tenant may withhold 1 month's rent until the lease is provided, it is a critical part of the leasing process. The onus is on the landlord, not the tenant to provide this. The tenant and their agent, will provide an Offer to Lease which when accepted becomes an Agreement to Lease, but it is not the Ontario Standard Lease. These two documents become the leasing requirements. I have been trained to help and manage this process.
